Today is the 143rd Birthday of Canada.
I love Canada Day, not only because it’s a much needed holiday, but because it makes me appreciate this great country all the more when people are celebrating how wonderful it is to live in Canada.
I’ve always wanted to do a road trip from coast to coast of Canada. I’ve been to many places but have yet to visit either ocean. One day….
Since I can’t do a road trip, I thought I would gather some very inspirational and beautiful pictures about Canada.

Well, I can’t choose a favorite from all those beautiful images. Impossible! My favorite Canadian memory is when we drove the semi truck onto a huge ferry and went over to Vancouver Island. We had to travel to the middle of nowhere to get to a paper mill, but was so a magical trip.
Happy Canada Day!

Thanks, Jean!
Speaking of paper mills, my Dad worked in one for many years and I also worked in one during a summer to earn money for my 3rd year of university. The hardest I’ve ever worked! I’ve never been to Vancouver, but it’s definitely one of the places that I want to visit when I do my coast to coast trip across this vast country of mine.
Happy Canada Day Karen! You have posted some real nice photos, especially the Niagra fall photo and Lake Louisa Alberta. I haven’t visited Canada yet, but hopefully some day i will.

I hope you do get a chance to come over and visit Canada, Dia. There are so many great places to visit with very unique landscapes. I loved going down to Niagara Falls when I lived in Toronto – it’s as majestic as you imagine it to be. Lake Louise, Banff and Whistler are unbelievably beautiful places to visit as well.
Thanks for stopping by,
Karen
I loved Vancouver Island when I visited year ago. Hopefully I can go there again this summer and go fishing with my brother.
I’ve never been to Vancouver Island but the pictures of are breathtaking. We are so lucky to live in a such a varied and beautiful country.
You should plan to go fishing with your brother – why wait?
Thanks Randy for stopping by.
Some truely beautiful photos there Karen. I’ve been to Canada once, almost 20 years ago now…to Niagara and also a day trip to Torronto. I always remember how clean and bright everywhere looks. I really do hope to go again.
I’d love to go to Vancouver and see the Killer whales.

Hi Matthew,
You don’t have to go to Vancouver to see the whales as there are several places in Canada that you can do that. I haven’t done it (yet!) myself but it would be something to experience, eh?
You should come back sometime and check out all the changes. It’s just a small hop over the pond
Thanks,
Karen
Hi Karen,
What a beautiful post. I loved all the photos. I’ve never been to Canada. I have a friend in Niagra Falls Canada and I hope to visit her some day.
Hope you had a wonderful Canada Day!

Oh, Angela, you have to come visit Niagara Falls one of these days.
It’s wonderful to see Mother Nature in all her majesty. Did you know that there are actually two Falls? The Horseshoe Falls (Canadian) and the American side? The Canadian falls is the larger and more majestic of the two.
Hi Karen,
I plan to visit – my friend keeps inviting me.
I didn’t know there were two sides? It sounds so beautiful. Thank you!

Hi Angela,
Yes, there are two Falls. I didn’t know myself until I actually went there. I had heard of the ‘Amercian Falls’ and the ‘Canadian Falls’, but thought that it was the same Falls except for which side you were on the border. Nope, they are two separate Falls.
The Canadian or Horsehoe Falls is a lot more majestic and looks like you see in most of the Falls pictures.

Hi Karen,
A belated Happy Canada Day!
They are all magnificent pics. Some are almost surreal. I haven’t had the chance to visit Canada yet. At one point, I over did my favorite place which was Hawaii (where my family is originally from — it’s great to play tourist). Now, I enjoy traveling to places I haven’t experienced before. So much to see, so little time
Thanks for the images and for inspiring a location to visit.
Kim
Hi Kim,
I’ve always wanted to visit Hawaii, so we are even
I agree, so much to see, so little time (and money!) I feel like booking off vacation to see some of these places, too, so you weren’t the only one inspired.
Thanks,
Karen
I personally love the 4th picture down and I’ve never been anywhere out of the USA myself but do plan on it someday.
Great photos here Karen and thanks for the comment on my blog today!

Thanks, Eric. A friend made that for me and since I was getting some feedback that my header look too dark (almost black and depressing), I thought I would update it with the new one. Glad that you liked it.
Karen,
Yeah it looks really nice now and a really cool change in style from before. Makes you want to put even more meaning into people’s existence.

Thanks, Moon. It was really hard to pick a few that represents so many different areas of Canada. I spent hours on Flickr trying to decide what to show and what not to. Some absolutely amazing photos there.
Wow I love these stunning shots of Canada! These are really inspiring pictures.
I love Canada so much. It’s one of the country that I’ve been always dreaming to visit. I hope I can be there for a long vacation soon.
Anyway Karen, thanks for spending hours to find and share those pictures with us.
Hi Kevin,
Your country is absolutely stunning as well, so you can appreciate the variety of landscapes here in Canada. You should definitely come and see different parts of the world. Canada will just blow you away!
Thanks,
Karen
Karen, all pictures my favorite. I am the same, hoping to take a trip across Canada. I have been in Banff, Jasper, and Nova Scotia. I live in Ontario, and we too have great places to visit. Thanks for sharing, these are very beautiful images. Anna
